If you find yourself losing control of a conversation with a prospect, you must stop and ask yourself, "Who has the knowledge?" You, of course, have the knowledge. If your prospect is the one asking all the questions, it can head you down the wrong path instead of to what your primary point of the discussion is - to make that person's life better. The whole importance of Prospecting Tip #6 is: You have to be the one asking questions because you are controlling the conversation.

If you don't ask questions, your prospect will. So you should always be one step ahead of your prospect to stay in control of the conversation.

The technique is very simple to explain, and then if you practice it a few times you will absolutely love this! By the way, I go into deep discussion on this in Professional Inviter. Here's the tried and true technique: You give your prospect a quick answer to the questions they ask. Don't lie nor evade! Make sure your answer is quick, not elaborate or detailed and then in the same breath, continue with a question.

Let's say that you initiate a call to a friend and as you're talking you do the inviting formula and ask them what's important to them, and they tell you. You then move to invite them to learn more about your MLM business.

Here is an example of what NOT to do:

You: "Well, I have something that may help you achieve _______."

Prospect: "Oh really. How so?"

You: I am in a business where you can...

No! You bombed out! You started to answer the question and your prospect just reversed who has control of the conversation.

A better way to do this would be:

You: "Well, I have something that may help you achieve _______."

Prospect: "Oh really. How so?"

You: "Well, I"m glad you asked. I have a video that will answer your question. Would you prefer to receive a DVD or would you like something on the Internet you can look at right now?"

Bam, you just reversed the direction of who is controlling the conversation - you answered their question, but you're in control. That person now has to decide whether they want the DVD or the online version.

As you're talking with a prospect you don't know, start with simple questions that don't require a lot of thought. Questions like: "Where do you live?" or "How long have you lived in this area?" As you get into the inviting formula, continue to ask questions that require more conversation from that person so you can get a better understanding on what that person is looking for. Questions like: "What kind of work do you do?", "What do you like/dislike about your job?", "What job experience do you have?" Make sure your ideas fit with that person's needs.

As long as you don't use too much assertiveness I suggest you ask more personal questions. If you don't infringe a little on that person's life history, you may not fully find out what that person needs, wants or doesn't want.

Remember, your mission is to find out what your prospect needs and wants, and if they qualify, invite them to look at your MLM business. Once you let them take control of the conversation it's very difficult to take it back. Stay on track by using this simple technique and you will achieve MLM success.

How It All Begun

It all started in April 2007 when I was thinking about the condition that has been haunting me the last 8 years of my life. I’m one of the many sufferers of the male condition Gynecomastia, or better known as man boobs. No I’m not overweight yet I have man boobs and the only way to lose them is to have surgery.

It’s not important whether you completely understand the condition or not, but what is important to take notice of is the fact that I took an idea that was close to my heart (well closer to my chest), and used that as my website idea.

Anyway, I was thinking of a way to raise money online to pay for the surgery fee and I got a crazy idea in my head. I remembered how I’ve seen many weird websites in the past which ask for a donation towards some crazy cause. I thought to myself, if some guy can make thousands of dollars by asking for donations for some (to be quite frank) “stupid” cause, surely I could raise the surgery fee since my site is towards a good cause.

And there it was, the idea was there, and the belief that it could work – that’s all I needed to go through with it.

20 minutes after I thought of my idea, I registered the domain name. I settled on removemymanboobs.com I knew with a domain like that I would at least intrigue people to check out the site, and it worked!

Having a captivating domain name is an excellent idea because the domain name alone is capable of making a website viral. Many webmasters don’t put enough thought into the name of their domain names. It’s a big mistake they make, as your domain name is a walking billboard for your website. Your domain is the first thing they are going to see before they view your website. Your domain name will either be clicked or ignored. If they ignore it, you’ve lost that visitor. Do you see where I’m going with this?

I’m not saying you must have a weird/crazy/funny domain name to succeed, but if you can come up with a good one, then by all means – use it!

Designing the website

After registering the domain name, my next step was to design the website. Now it will depend on the type of website you have, but generally if you want a website to go viral it’s best to have a simple design. You don’t want too many flashy images and other things which increase loading time and distract viewer’s eyes away from the main focus of the site.

Read this part because it’s very important. Your idea is the most important part of your website, when designing your website everything you do should place emphasis on your idea. That’s why if you have a simple design viewers will immediately start reading or looking at the important content on your website.

Many people believe you need to have a flashy website to succeed, but I’m telling you right now – that’s not true! If you don’t believe me, go take a look at Google, Craiglist or most other popular websites, and you will see they focus more on functionality rather than flashy designs.

Now with removemymanboobs.com I basically have a simple cartoon image of man boobs, a progress bar so others can see how well I’m doing with the donations and a long story about my condition so viewers can understand my condition and hopefully sympathise with me.

Promoting the website

This is the most interesting part of this report I think. I did one thing and one thing only to get 18,007 visits in 7 days, and it didn’t cost me a cent!

I sent out FREE press releases about my site

You better believe it, those free press release sites which many believe are useless made my site go viral in a big way. Not only did I get traffic from the press releases, but once the word was out about removemymanboobs.com, various blog owners and forum members starting posting news about my site – without me even asking them! My site was even advertised on the home page of many high traffic websites.

Not only that, but people who found my site interesting posted on social bookmarking website like Fark and Stumbleupon, and those sites sent thousands of visitors to my site.

The best thing is I didn’t have to do anything at all, besides submitting the initial free press releases.

Then the unthinkable happened

I started getting donations, money, moolah, whatever you want to call it, I couldn’t believe it, my site was a success.

Not only that, but I had a few radio stations email me requesting me to do interviews with them about my website. I had one from New Zealand and two from the USA.

Maintaining traffic flow

Although I consider my results a success, it was evident that the traffic was going to die down if I chose to sit back and do no further website promotion.

Here are a few things I have (or will be doing) to extend the life of my site and keep the traffic and donations coming in.

-Write Articles on Gynecomastia and submit them to article directories

-Send out more press releases updating the public about advancements on my site. This is where you should be creative. I could make the title of my new press release something like “36,000 eyes witness the man boobs”. You need to use every weapon in your bag, be creative and people will notice you.

The above are just a couple of methods I can use to ensure more traffic to my site, however if a site is truly viral you won’t need to constantly promote the site, your visitors should be doing that for you!

If you are anything like me then I'm sure you have been scammed many times online. I see ad after ad on how to easily and quickly make money online. Well I have finally figured it out. If you want to make money online you have to work. If you hear anyone else tell you different, then they are probably setting you up for a scam. I have found adsense to be profitable for me, but it takes some work to make it happen.

What is adsense?

One of the best ways to make money online is with adsense in my opinion. Adsense is a program offered by google that pays you to place ads on your website. Basically you place the ads on your site and when people click on them you get paid. You may get 10 cents per click all the way up to $20 per click. I would say that in my experience I make an average of 10 cents to 50 cents per click.

The only way you are going to make money with this program is if you get free traffic to your website. The best free traffic comes from the search engines. Let's say that you have a website about motorcycles. Let's also say that the term motorcycles is searched for 10,000 times per month in google. Well if your website gets on the front page of google for this term then you can expect a lot of traffic.

How Do You Get Your Website Ranked Well In Google?

Ranking well in the search engines has become a science all of its own. It is referred to as SEO, or search engine optimization. You will hear many things from many different people on SEO. What worked well one day may not work at all when it comes to ranking in the search engines. My best advice to getting your site at the top of the search engines is to provide a well written website with frequently updated content. This is what has worked in the past and will always work in the future. Think about it, when you are searching the internet you are looking for information. It is the job of the search engine to provide you with the information you are searching for.

In the past people have used methods to trick the search engines into ranking their sites well without having to do the work of constantly updating their content. Well these tactics will always come and go, but trust me, there is no substitute to unique, original content. This is where the actual hard work comes in to play. If you want to have a high ranking site, you will need to always update it with useful and unique content. That is pretty much it. There is no golden trick, just simple updating of unique content.

If you have around 10 websites ranking well with adsense ads on them, you should be able to make around $500 a month without much trouble. If you really want to work hard at it and create 100 sites you have a new career on your hands. It really is simple to make money from adsense using this formula. Now go out there and get writing and creating websites so you can get your piece of the adsense pie!

How To Make Your Computer Print Money In 6 Easy Steps

I bet that got your attention, didn't it? I've been working on my headlines. Sorry to disappoint you but this article isn't about counterfeiting or how to get rich quick. It's about how to create a successful website which will draw lots of traffic and make you lots of money.

This is an enormous subject and you could write a book on each different step. I'm just going to provide a general outline here of the 6 crucial steps to creating a website that's successful over the long term.


1 - Pick Your Niche

Choose something you enjoy researching and writing about because you're going to spend a lot of time doing both. It shouldn't have a lot of competition. For example, don't choose "electronics." I guarantee you'll never get a better ranking in the search engines than Sony or Amazon.com. Narrow it down to something like "high end audiophile speakers".

Do some research. Check out how much your keywords are going to cost for advertising. If they're really expensive you might want to choose another niche. Check out some sites with similar subject matter so you can see who you're going to be competing with for rankings in the search engines.


2 - Choose Your Service Providers And Register Your Domain

Your service providers must be reliable. If your internet connection is always going down or your server is constantly crashing it's going to be difficult to maintain a successful business. Don't skimp on quality just to save a few pennies here.

Your domain name should contain your most important keyword that you're hoping to rank well for in the search engines. It should be something unique that's related to your niche and easily brandable. By brandable I mean easy for people to remember and associate with your site. Some call it "mindshare".


3 - Create Your Content

Your content must be unique. If you're content is plagiarized, Google will tend to ignore you. They now recognize duplicate content and refuse to list it. They want to provide their users with useful results. People have been slapping together crappy "made for adsense" websites by just copying and pasting content and Google's decided to put an end to it.

My advice is not to mess with Google. They're the 900 lb gorilla of the internet that you really don't want to piss off. If you can't get listed in the search engines, you're pretty much doomed from the start. So give them what they want. You'll need 30-100 pages of good content before you even put up a website. You could just start with a few pages and add a page day - like you would with a blog - but it will take you longer to get indexed. Are you noticing a theme about the search engines here?


4 - Create Your Website

You're either going to have to use a program like Dreamweaver or a Content Management System. I'd suggest considering a CMS. You'll need to update your website frequently, and even for experienced web designers this can be difficult. A CMS removes all the hassles of publishing new content daily. However, you have to make sure your CMS is search engine friendly. Probably the easiest thing to do for a beginner is use a blogging program like Wordpress. Search engines LOVE blogs, they're very easy to update, and best of all Wordpress is FREE.

You should create the website with search engine optimization in mind right from the start. SEO is a very in-depth subject that I can't get into here. Basically, you'll want to make sure your website can be easily crawled by the search engine robots or "spiders". This requires all kinds of things like proper meta-tags and making sure you have good keyword density on your pages.

Also, you MUST make sure all your pages load quickly. Much of the world still doesn't have broadband. The average surfer will only wait about 4 seconds before they click off elsewhere. If your pages load too slowly you will be losing massive amounts of traffic. Navigation is very important as well. If people have a hard time finding their way around they'll quickly get frustrated and leave.


5 - Drive Traffic To Your Website

Setting up a business on the net is different than at a physical location. In the "real" world it's all about location, location, location. If your store's in a high traffic area it's easy to get customers. But on the net no one just passes by, they SEARCH for specific things. Until your site is listed in the search engines there's no way for anyone to find it - It's up to you to drive traffic to it.

There a several ways to do this:

You can buy it by creating ads and then bidding on certain keywords so the ads will show up whenever anyone searches for them.

You can get it for free by:

- Writing articles on your niche topic with a link to your site in the author's resource box, and submitting them to article directories so publishers can use them and distribute them to thousands of readers.

- Submitting your site to free SEO friendly web directories.

- Social bookmarking some of the more interesting pages on your site at places like del.icio.us and Blink.

- Submitting some of your articles to sites like Digg or Reddit, where people vote on whether they should be displayed on the front page. If you're item is popular and gets displayed on the front page of Digg, the amount of traffic you get could crash your server. I'm not kidding, I've seen it happen.

- Participate in forums and provide a link to your site in you signature. Don't spam or you'll get banned - make intelligent comments.

- Comment in blogs with a link in your sig. Again - don't spam. And make sure the blog isn't using no-follow or you'll be wasting your time.

- Post free classified ads. These provide a high value link back from a popular site, plus you get free targeted traffic to your website from the ads.

- There's many ways to get free traffic - just be creative - but don't be too creative. There's a lot of illegal ways to get free traffic as well but they'll backfire on you in the long run.


6 - Monetize Your Website

This is the fun part. Now that you've got all this traffic how do you make money?

- You can sell advertising - probably the easiest way is with Google Adsense. You can also sell banner space, text links, almost anything really.

- You can sell merchandise - I'd suggest drop-shipping. Why do all that packing and shipping if you don't have to? That's too much like work.

- You can do affiliate marketing - one of the easiest ways to do this is to feature recommended products that link through to your affiliate's site for purchase. Just make sure you choose quality products to be affiliated with.

- The sky's the limit when it comes to monetizing your website. Be creative here too - but again, not too creative. You don't want to do anything stupid and get banned from Adsense or your best affiliate program.

Split Testing To Improve Your Website

Most people change their website's pages whenever they get a new idea. They think that each change is going to improve their site and make them more successful.

Of course, there are basic improvements you can make as you are writing the content for your site. And for the first few weeks you may notice some shortcomings that need to be remedied.

But, after a few days or weeks your site becomes stable. You don't find any more errors in spelling or grammar. The graphics look like they belong on the site. And your order link or opt-in form performs correctly.

You're now ready for split testing. This is a slow, incremental improvement of your site through ongoing testing.

Split testing involves making an experimental change to one of your pages, measuring the effects of that change, and analyzing the significance of differences in measured results. In other words, a split test attempts to determine how a change to your site affects some measurable response.

There are several decisions you must make to conduct a split test.

First, you need to determine what change you want to make. Typically you will change a headline, a sentence or two in your sales copy, the price of your product, the wording of your guarantee, change an image, or alter some other single feature of your page.

You will use two (or more) nearly identical pages. The difference being that one page has the "original" material while the other "experimental" page has the change applied.

Second, you must decide what "success event" to measure. For many people, it will be sales of a product or clicks of the order link. Some will want to measure the number of opt-ins. Others will measure the clicks to a pay-per-click service like AdSense.

To measure successfully, you must know how to distinguish successful responses from your "original" and "experimental" pages.

For example, many affiliate programs allow you to include a campaign ID in your link. By placing one campaign ID in the order links on the "original" page and another campaign ID on the "experimental" page you can determine the number of clicks and the number of orders coming from your pages.

Other people use a redirect script that keeps statistics on each redirect request. Redirect scripts typically use a keyword to select the URL for redirection. You can use keywords like "original" and "experimental" and have both redirected to your affiliate program's order page. Then you can use the admin function of the redirect script to look at the number of clicks to the order page from both your "original" and "experimental" pages.

Next, you'll need a script to randomly deliver your original or experimental pages to your site's visitors. It would be helpful for this script to place a cookie on the visitor's computer so the same page is delivered when the visitor returns.

Finally, you'll need to analyze the results. The Chi Square statistic is often used to determine the significance of experiments similar to this. While differences in results often seem satisfyingly clear, they often are not statistically significant.

For example, consider two pages that are each displayed 500 times. One page resulted in 20 sales while the other page resulted in 30 sales. "WOW", you say. "One page caused 50% more sales than the other page. That's got to be meaningful."

In this case we had a total of 50 sales, all things being equal, we would expect 25 sales from each page. The difference for both of your pages was only 5 sales. One page made 5 more sales than expected while the other made 5 fewer sales than expected. This could easily be the result of random variation rather than being caused by differences in your pages.

To help you understand, consider this story. Two random people are each given 500 pennies and each is placed 30 feet from a small can. They toss their pennies at the can. One person gets 30 pennies in the can while the other gets only 20 in the can. Can you conclude that the person who got 30 pennies in was significantly more skilled at tossing pennies than the other person?

No. In fact, if this penny tossing experiment was repeated 100 times, it is likely that 15 of those results would differ by as much or more than our example. That's too close to simple random variation to believe that there is a real difference in skill levels between the people tossing the pennies.

For many experiments, a "statistically significant" result means that the differences we seen in our result would occur 5 or fewer times if a similar random experiment was repeated 100 times.

So, we should not conclude that there is a significant difference in the ability of our pages to deliver the "success event."

There are now two things we can do. One is to conclude that the change we made to our "experimental" page is not statistically significant. In this case we can move on to the next split test experiment.

Or, we can continue this split test and hope that the ratio of sales remains the same. If we carried on the split test longer and found the same ratio of results, the differences could be significant. Consider doubling the number of exposures of your pages. If the ratio held, and we now have 60 sales compared to only 40 sales, that result would be statistically significant.

In 100 truly random experiments, successes having differences similar to 60 and 40 would occur fewer than 5 times. This is a good indication that the observed differences were not caused simply by random chance. Rather, we can conclude that there was a real cause for the observed differences.

The Chi Square statistic can be found on many spreadsheets, including Excel. With this statistic you compare the expected success values with the actual success values. When the statistic has a value of 0.05 or less you can conclude that there was a real reason for the differences.

Don't expect every split test experiment to yield important results. Perhaps a third of your split test experiments will show the experimental page significantly improved sales. A third of the time there will be no significant difference. And a third of the time, the experimental page will cause a decrease in sales.

But, keep testing because that's the sure way to improve your sales.
